Abstract:
This study provides a comprehensive bibliometric assessment of research examining the relationship between strategic human resource management and organizational transformation. The objective is to map the intellectual structure, knowledge evolution, and dominant research themes shaping this interdisciplinary field. A systematic search of the Scopus database was conducted on 30 January 2026 using predefined keywords related to strategic personnel management, workforce strategy, human capital management, and organisational transformation. Following established screening and inclusion criteria, 61 English-language publications published between 2005 and 2025 were selected for analysis. Bibliometric techniques, including performance analysis, keyword co-occurrence analysis, co-citation analysis, bibliographic coupling, and thematic mapping, were applied. VOSviewer was employed to visualize scholarly productivity, collaboration patterns, and thematic structures across authors, institutions, and countries. The findings reveal a sustained growth in publications, indicating increasing scholarly attention to the strategic role of human resources in enabling organisational change and transformation. Performance analysis identifies influential authors, journals, institutions, and countries contributing to the field. The thematic mapping uncovers distinct research clusters focused on strategic HR alignment, human capital development, talent management, change management processes, and business transformation outcomes. The results also highlight evolving research emphases and emerging themes that signal future directions for strategic HR research. The analysis is limited to Scopus-indexed publications and English-language documents, which may restrict coverage. Despite this limitation, the study offers a structured synthesis of the field and provides a foundation for theory development and future empirical inquiry. By integrating performance indicators with scientific mapping techniques, this study offers a novel and systematic overview of the strategic human resource management–organisational transformation literature. It contributes to consolidating fragmented research streams and supports scholars and practitioners in advancing evidence-based HR strategies for organisational transformation.
